EMPLOYMENT EXCHANGE

The district employment exchange, Jharsuguda has been functioning since 04.06.1994, after the bifurcation of undivided Sambalpur District and creation of new Jharsuguda District. Under it's jurisdiction there is one Sub-division, 2 Tahasils and 5 Blocks.

Activities

The first and foremost role of District employment exchange is to implement and co-ordinate all programs of employment assistance like registration, placement, career guidance, employment market information, surveys and studies in the District. The District employment exchange is also responsible for inspection and enforcement of employment exchange compulsory notification vacancies Act 1959 and guidance to the candidates to improve their employability. No such fees charges for any stage.

There are 4 branches functioning in this Exchange, namely Registration section, Vacancy section, Vocation Guidance unit and Employment Market Information.

Employment Exchange are responsible for collecting information about employment both public and private sector through form Employment Return –1 (quarterly)

Form employment return – II is used for collection of occupation and educational details of employees from both public and private section establishment in once in two years as per C.N.V.Act – Rules – 1960.

Training facilities, individual information, Group discussion, Old case review, Higher studies are being conducted with job seekers by officer concerned in V.G.Unit.

A total no. of 18258 candidates including 3880 women have been continuing on the live  register as on 28.02.2006.
