DISTRICT RURAL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY

INTRODUCTION: After creation of new district Jharsuguda on 01.01.94, DRDA,Jharsuguda started functioning from 01.04.94. This DRDA was created vide Panchayati Raj Department Notification No.4974/PR Dated 25.2.94. Prior to that it was under DRDA, Sambalpur. As per instructions communicated vide Resolution No. 4974/PR dated 25.2.94. DRDA Jharsuguda has been registered under the Societies Registration Act. 1860 with Registration No.09/94.

There are 5 (five) blocks with 78(seventy-eight) GPs.The area of Jharsuguda District is 2081 Sq. kms having total population of 5,14,853 out of which 17.13% are scheduled caste & 31.55% are scheduled tribe as per 2001 census. The cultivable area of this District is 91,730 Ha.

ACCOMMODATION: - DRDA, Jharsuguda is functioning in its own building with effect from 05.09.2000. This DRDA has got its own conference hall adjacent to its main building.
