District Industries Centre , Jharsuguda has started functioning independently for Jharsuguda Revenue District from January, 2000.  Prior to this all the industrial activities of the district were looked after by the District Industries Centre, Sambalpur. 

FUNCTION OF DISTRICT INDUSTRIES CENTRE 

Basically the District Industries Centre is a promotional agency. The functions of DIC are :

1) Identification of project and entrepreneurs for setting up of S.S.I. units.

2) Issue of provisional Registration Certificate to prospective entrepreneurs.

3)  Recommend for loan/allotment of shed/allotment of raw material etc. for S.S.I. units.

4) Issue of  Permanent Registration Certificate of  SSI UNITS.

5) Recommend for different incentives for SSI  units as per provision of Industrial Policy Resolution.

6) Provide marketing support to SSI units by recommending the cases to Directorate of B.P.M.  for registration/rate contract and M.C.L / NALCO for ancilliarisation.

7) Implementation of  PMRY  scheme for providing self  employment to unemployed youth of  Jharsuguda District.

8) Implementation of special  Employment Programme under village industries  scheme for    providing self employment to rural youths of Jharsuguda District.
